Three Things Meme: Baaaaa

[livejournal.com profile] nakedfaery posted a longer version of this, and this is [livejournal.com profile] artremis's version. Comment here and i'll tell you - in return i'd like it if you'd post some variant of this on your own journal but i'm not going to hold anyone to it:

a. Tell you why I friended you.

b. Tell you something I like about you.

c. Ask you something I've wanted to know about you.

Mememememe!

I don't post these to my flist these days because people comment who I have only the vaguest opinions about! However, my answers for you are

a. I friended you after meeting you at Biphoria. And therefore, because you were an interesting person I wanted to get to know better!

b. I like how kind and thoughtful you are. We've been mutual shoulders-to-cry-on/sounding-boards for each other over the last few years and I have deep affection and respect for you.

c. I actually can't think of anything that I haven't asked you in person! I like hearing your thoughts on all sorts of subjects.

I want to see what your answers will be ;)

This is word-for-word how I feel and think about you. *HUGS*

[identity profile] shinydan.livejournal.com 2010-09-03 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
a) Because you were interesting, and interested in the same things I am, and you were sexy, and interested in me. And all that's still the same today.

b) Your quiet strength. I like it, I seek to emulate it, and it's one of the many reasons I love you.

c) We've talked about everything I can think of already. If something else occurs to me, I'll ask. 8)

*comment* - me please! :)

[identity profile] shinydan.livejournal.com 2010-09-03 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
a) When I met you at Leicester BBFD, you were fun to talk to, and something about you drew my eye.

b) Your enthusiasm and activism. Hearing you talk about your LGBT group and the steps you were taking to make it bi-inclusive made me smile a lot.

c) Are you soprano, alto, or something else, and what's your favourite musical?

1) Because you're dating a good friend of mine; at least, that was my original reason. Now it's because I know you a bit better and like you.

2) Your bravery, your dignity, your cheeky smile and your dirty mind. Oh, and your bunnies. Not necessarily in that order, either. 8)

c) When are you next likely to be in Manchester? I'd quite like to buy you a drink.

b) Woof bark don't get many countertenors who speak fluent dog woof.

c) Has anyone told you there's a restaurant in Manchester called "Ning"? Oh, yes - bark.

hello!

[identity profile] sparkle-puppy.livejournal.com 2010-09-03 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh go on then. I know why you friended me, but I'm interested in the other two.

[identity profile] cheshcat.livejournal.com 2010-09-03 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
*soft curious smile*

Okay. A-B-C me, baby...

[identity profile] shinydan.livejournal.com 2010-09-03 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
a) Um, I couldn't stop looking at you at BiCon. I wanted to get to know you better.

b) Because once I actually started talking to you, I liked you generally, and I'm learning to trust that response more these days. 8)

c) Do you have a favourite ancient culture or subgroup that you're really keen on?

[identity profile] shinydan.livejournal.com 2010-09-03 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
b) Anyone who looks at a friend of mine the way you look at Ollie has to be in my good books. Anyone who looks at _anyone_ that way is someone I value as a friend. 8)

c) Are you planning on going to Bicon 2011 in Leicester?

ps: Weighing in at 235 and one quarter pound....he hails from Green Bay, Wisconsin...

[identity profile] shinydan.livejournal.com 2010-09-03 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
a) Because you give fantastic cuddles and I recall a long and pleasant chat with you at a previous BiCon. (Damn memory's letting me down as to which one though.)

b) I don't think I've ever seen you without a smile on your face. You love life.

c) How long have you been in the UK and what brought you here?

[identity profile] cheshcat.livejournal.com 2010-09-03 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)

A) Baseball. At the BiCon ball two years ago.

B) Hah. Then you aren't paying close enough attention. *thffft*

C) Clever Nomad got a job offer, first in Oxford then in London. It's been 4 years now. :)

You give great hugs, too. Why are you so damn far away?

Now I'm curious. I can't even remember which social circle I met you in first.

[identity profile] shinydan.livejournal.com 2010-09-04 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
#AFP in about 2002. But I must to bed. Night...

[identity profile] twizzle-eeyore.livejournal.com 2010-09-04 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
aww :)

And yes! The Romans. Specifically the Julio-Claudian Emperors - from Augustus to Nero. Nero's my favourite, has always been my favourite, I adore him. Caligula comes a close second. Oh, and Hadrian's rather cool too because he had a male lover who has a most awesome bust in the Louvre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antinous_Mondragone), it's stunningly beautiful (I went to the Hadrian exhibition at the British Museum to see it, sadly I've never been to the Louvre).

I prefer learning/reading about the emperors, but I also love architecture so their buildings fascinate me. I'm doing my dissertation for my degree on baths. Roman Britain I'm not so keen on, but it's still interesting, especially with the transition from the Iron Age. Plus, I've done several weeks of excavation at a Roman site in England that used to be an Iron Age site. I don't think I could ever get bored of the Romans, and I much prefer them to the Greeks - although Alexander the Great's fascinating. And I like the film...because Colin Farrell and Jared Leto? Yes please!

Uhm...I'll stop talking now so I don't overtake your page.

The answer to c) is FUCK YEAH!

And as for d....ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHOLE.
