nakedfaery posted a longer version of this, and this is artremis's version. Comment here and i'll tell you - in return i'd like it if you'd post some variant of this on your own journal but i'm not going to hold anyone to it:
a. Tell you why I friended you.
b. Tell you something I like about you.
c. Ask you something I've wanted to know about you.
I don't post these to my flist these days because people comment who I have only the vaguest opinions about! However, my answers for you are
a. I friended you after meeting you at Biphoria. And therefore, because you were an interesting person I wanted to get to know better!
b. I like how kind and thoughtful you are. We've been mutual shoulders-to-cry-on/sounding-boards for each other over the last few years and I have deep affection and respect for you.
c. I actually can't think of anything that I haven't asked you in person! I like hearing your thoughts on all sorts of subjects.
And yes! The Romans. Specifically the Julio-Claudian Emperors - from Augustus to Nero. Nero's my favourite, has always been my favourite, I adore him. Caligula comes a close second. Oh, and Hadrian's rather cool too because he had a male lover who has a most awesome bust in the Louvre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antinous_Mondragone), it's stunningly beautiful (I went to the Hadrian exhibition at the British Museum to see it, sadly I've never been to the Louvre).
I prefer learning/reading about the emperors, but I also love architecture so their buildings fascinate me. I'm doing my dissertation for my degree on baths. Roman Britain I'm not so keen on, but it's still interesting, especially with the transition from the Iron Age. Plus, I've done several weeks of excavation at a Roman site in England that used to be an Iron Age site. I don't think I could ever get bored of the Romans, and I much prefer them to the Greeks - although Alexander the Great's fascinating. And I like the film...because Colin Farrell and Jared Leto? Yes please!
Uhm...I'll stop talking now so I don't overtake your page.
b) Anyone who looks at a friend of mine the way you look at Ollie has to be in my good books. Anyone who looks at _anyone_ that way is someone I value as a friend. 8)
c) Are you planning on going to Bicon 2011 in Leicester?
ps: Weighing in at 235 and one quarter pound....he hails from Green Bay, Wisconsin...
a) Because you give fantastic cuddles and I recall a long and pleasant chat with you at a previous BiCon. (Damn memory's letting me down as to which one though.)
b) I don't think I've ever seen you without a smile on your face. You love life.
c) How long have you been in the UK and what brought you here?

Date: 2010-09-03 06:29 pm (UTC)b) Your quiet strength. I like it, I seek to emulate it, and it's one of the many reasons I love you.
c) We've talked about everything I can think of already. If something else occurs to me, I'll ask. 8)

c) Are you soprano, alto, or something else, and what's your favourite musical?

c) Do you have a favourite ancient culture or subgroup that you're really keen on?
