Spent Saturday in the company of flirtydaz and James Sager, watching football, failing to buy a guitar and discussing Magic. Very nice it was too.

Sunday was my third Magic tournament. My career record, going in, was 0 wins, 2 draws, 8 losses. I now stand at 3-3-10, which is still not going to earn me any Pro Tour invitations, but still makes me feel a lot happier. I can play Magic pretty well after all!

But I wanted to get to spend some time with someone specific and special. oh_pooh got called into work so we had to put seeing each other off, instead. *frown* That was the only real blemish on the weekend, though...

2-1-1 in the prerelease on Saturday. That was because my deck relied on Akroma, Angel of Wrath, and the Stuffy Doll / Keen Sense combo. My draw came against a guy running a Merfolk Thaumaturgist -- I couldn't kill it fast enough, which meant I couldn't get Stuffy down fast enough, which meant that games 1 & 2 were too slow for my turn 8 Akroma to kill him (turn 8 was the last of the 5 over-time turns).
