1) What is your favourite memory from your childhood.
Being in Oliver with Fareham Musical Society. I was eleven, and I was only supposed to be one of Fagin's Lads - but because my voice had broken, I got asked to join the chorus for the rest of the show. Applause is not the worst thing to be addicted to...
2) Money is no object what would be the first thing you would buy or do?
A house, big enough for me and my *cough* housemates, with two spare double bedrooms, hot and cold running internets and easy public transport links.
3) Favourite place to eat out and why?
I've recently been introduced to Panama Hatty's in Manchester - Mexican food that doesn't blow your head off. But it's more about the company than the restaurant - even KFC can be good if you're there with the right people.
4) If you could choose any job what would it be and why?
For the moment, journalist - probably trying to focus on LGBT and kink issues, but with a taste for covering minority sports. Bit of a pipe dream but it would be nice.
5) What do you do to relax?
Not as much as I should. Mostly I read science fiction and talk to my friends online.

3. They are all fascinating in different ways but I would say Rome, because we have so much more information about how they thought. I'm interested in the ways in which they are similar to us but also very different.
4. Tragically, I've not been reading many books recently. Online - Kate Harding and Sweet Machine of Shapely Prose are awesome. Actual papery books - probably still Salman Rushdie for The Moor's Last Sigh.
5. I had decided to study Chem Eng at university. I was planning to study in Scotland until I talked to a very lonely-looking rep from UMIST at a university recruitment fair. When I came for my student visit, it was clear that Manchester was a big scary place for a girl from a relatively quiet area but I knew it was a challenge I had to take. Also, I liked the course and the city so it became my first choice UCAS place.
