Much as I would like to drop in samples, I don't know how. So - another music lyrics quiz!

All the following lyrics come from songs in the UK Top 10 singles chart, from its inception in 1952 to the present day,.as referred to on www.everyhit.com.

Ignoring silly words like "The" and "A", nine of the songs come from artists beginning with the letter "A". The tenth and last song on the list has a title beginning with the letter "A".

Name the artist of each song for one point, and get another for naming the song. Please don't use internet search services to look these details up. Answers will be screened until Friday afternoon, when I'll post the answers and the scores!

And it's all behind here! )

Rules: For once, you are permitted to google for the answers. This is because the quiz appears to me to be nose-bleedingly hard. Deadline is 9am on Friday, and weekly totals will go up shortly after then. All answers submitted will be screened until after scores are posted.

Scoring: Here are eleven questions. Anyone who correctly answers question 11 will receive double points for questions 1-10. All songs are UK Top 40 single releases.
