Towel Day: In Memoriam DNA

For no readily apparent reason, lots of Douglas Noel Adams's fans will be carrying a towel around with them today. All day. If I were to do this, I would get the sack. I will, however, have a flannel in my pocket instead.

It won't be anywhere as useful as a towel would be. I won't be able to use it to keep my chair warm while I extinguish the fire someone will have accidentally started in one of the ashtrays. I won't be able to use it to beat back the hordes of people trying to park in the carpark I look after. Since no-one will see the flannel, I can't even expect to simply baffle people with it, which is one of my hobbies.

But I will remember one of my favourite authors. Which isn't too bad, really.
