I don't bloody well believe this.
What on earth is the Vatican playing at? Passing a speech where GROE(1) quotes a view as inflammatory as this one, no matter how hands-off he makes the quotation, is simply asking for trouble. Naturally, Muslim clerics all over the world have taken the bait - but "You Have Been Trolled. Say three Hail Marys and come back in a fortnight" isn't going to cut it in the confessional. Or at the next ecumenical conference.
