Just got off the phone from the unit again. They've confirmed it's COPD (which is chronic bronchitis & emphysema, neither of which is a good thing), that Dad's breathing unaided and his blood pressure's on the way up. Still not out of the woods, but the lumberjack's turned up and is looking ominously at the wolf in the bed.

I think we're looking at inhalers, from a quick scan of the relevant websites. But of course IANADr, so we'll wait and see.
