First of Many

I've had this week off (and thank you, nice employer) to try and stop the room from spinning. I think I've just about managed it. Thank you, all of you, who sent me supportive messages recently. You are wonderful.

Just finished my first driving lesson in 10 years or so from timpootle.
Scorecard: one "why did you let the clutch up there?" (Because I'd forgotten what happens when you do)
one "stop NOW! That's a lamp-post." (Ok, it's a fair cop, guv.)
three small child avoidance maneuvers.
one turn in the road (three point turn in new money, apparently)
one coffee with an extra sugar afterwards until I stop shaking (not yet).

All in all it's been a pretty good day so far. 8)

You're learning to drive? Good stuff! I did turn in the road for the first time last week too - not as hard as I'd thought it would be.

Thanks Lisa..unfortunately further lessons haven't gone so well. Oh well.
